Meet Sherrie 

New Leadership Delivering Results for Our Community

Greetings--

My name is Sherrie Winfield and I have been a Northville resident for the past 16 years.  The primary reason my family moved to Northville was the high ranking of the Northville Public Schools. 

 

In 1990 and 1992, I received my Bachelor of Science in Management (BSM) and my Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Human Resources, respectively from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA.

I am the proud mother of Rachel and Victoria Winfield.   My daughters have attended NPS schools since the first grade at Silver Springs to Meads Mills, and onto the High School.  I have actively supported my daughters in a myriad of activities over the years. 
 

Rachel graduated from NHS in 2018.  While attending NPS, she was active in Lacrosse, Basketball, and was Captain of the NHS Rowing Team.   She also founded her own student organization, Students Promoting Justice and Equality.  She is a Junior at Michigan State University.  Victoria is a rising NHS Sophomore and has been an active member of Student Congress, Basketball, Band and Girl Scouts throughout her school years.

I am a Senior Human Resources Manager at Ford Motor Company.  I was recruited out of graduate school 28 years ago.  While employed at Ford, I’ve gained invaluable experience that especially qualifies me for the Northville Public School Board especially in these unique times:

Health and Safety during COVID-19:

  • Member of the Manufacturing Return to Work Taskforce responsible for developing comprehensive health and safety protocols for employees to return to the workplace.

  • Member of the Employee Experience Team focused on creating positive, supportive, and relevant experiences for employees during the pandemic.

  • Member of the Global Safe at Work Team charged with tracking worldwide COVID-19 research and using data-driven decisions to ensure that our health and safety protocols remain relevant and effective.

Learning and Development

  • Created learning curriculum for Human Resources employees

  • Certified in Organizational Development and Change Management

  • Certified Myers-Briggs Facilitator

Diversity and Inclusion

  • Developed corporate procedure to address sex, race and retaliation issues

  • Facilitates corporate anti-harassment training

  • Managed Diversity and Inclusion Committees

  • Member of the Manufacturing Cultural Operating Committee

Negotiations, Budgets, and Collaborative Problem Solving

  • Lead negotiator experience for 5 cycles of labor contract negotiations with the UAW.

  • Managed multi-million-dollar budget as Ford Recruiting Manager

  • Managed multi-million-dollar budgets for HR-IT Related Projects

  • Co-Chair Joint (Ford-UAW) Continuous Improvement Forum
